Autumn, the ‘season
of mists and mellow fruitfulness’ (John Keats)
The nature has worn its gorgeous coat!
Leaves in bright colours embellish (zdobią) the landscapes, cover the ground and rustle (szeleszczą) beneath our feet. Trees perform their most beautiful display of dancing shapes.
The days are getting shorter, but the light is more intense... It’s getting chilly. Not everyone likes crisp mornings (rześkie poranki) when you shake like a leaf…

Fortunately, it isn’t raining cats and dogs…..
No doubt, autumn has arrived!
Enjoy the fall colours, they disappear
too quickly, so grab your camera and take fabulous photos…
Autumn is here!
Boletus
(prawdziwek), orange birch bolete ( koźlarz czerwony), slippery jack (maślak
zwyczajny) and other mushrooms can be picked from the forest. Beware death cap (muchomor sromotnikowy) though!
Don’t waste your time! Pick some
apples, bake muffins, watch the squirrels, gather nuts, chestnuts, acorns or
pine cones, put some rowan in a vase and admire the autumn beauty of your
garden. Invite your friends and have a bonfire! In the evening sip hot cinnamon
tea with ginger (imbir), cloves (goździki) and lemon and read a wonderful book!
Autumn quotes:
"Change is a measure of time and, in the autumn, time seems speeded up. What was is not and never again will be; what is is change." — Edwin Teale
"How beautifully leaves grow old. How full of light and color are
their last days." — John Burroughs
and a poem for all autumn lovers:
Autumn Fires Robert Louis Stevenson
In the other gardens
And all up in the vale,
From the autumn bonfires
See the smoke trail!
Pleasant summer over,
And all the summer flowers,
The red fire blazes,
The grey smoke towers.
Sing a song of seasons!
Something bright in all!
Flowers in the summer,
Fires in the fall!
And all up in the vale,
From the autumn bonfires
See the smoke trail!
Pleasant summer over,
And all the summer flowers,
The red fire blazes,
The grey smoke towers.
Sing a song of seasons!
Something bright in all!
Flowers in the summer,
Fires in the fall!
